CCC Women’s Golf Championship Presented by U.S. Bank Set to Begin

EAGLE POINT, Ore. – After winning their first ever regular season title, the Corban women’s golf team will look to add to their successful season as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Golf Championship presented by U.S. Bank begins today at the Eagle Point Golf Club.
 
The two-day tournament hosted by Oregon Tech features teams playing 18-holes each day. The team and the individual with the lowest stroke total at the end of the tournament will claim the championship and earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships slated for May 17-20, at the Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga.
 
In a close regular season finish, the Warriors edged out College of Idaho by 10 strokes, totaling 2,648-strokes in the four CCC tournaments. C of I (2,658-strokes) finishes in second while Oregon Tech was third with 2,674-strokes.
 
Individually, C of I’s Natalie Mullins leads the conference in lowest stroke average at 77.2 strokes while teammates Shaunel Fillmore (82.5) and Kaily Beatty (84) rank third and fifth respectively in average strokes per round.
 
Oregon Tech’s Janelle Ferlan ranks second in stroke average at 78.6 heading into the championship while Corban has five golfers in the top nine in stroke average, led by Carrie Wallace at 82.8 strokes.
