NCU’s Goins Leads Individual, OIT Leads Team Score After Day One

EAGLE POINT, Ore. – Northwest Christian’s Josh Goins shot a 72 in his first round and a 77 in round two to finish plus-5 (149) to lead all competitors while Oregon Tech finished with a team stroke total of 605 in day one of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Championship, presented by U.S. Bank.
 
OIT finished 23-strokes ahead of second place Northwest Christian at 628-strokes while Corban landed in third (646) and College of Idaho in fourth (652) with round one to go tomorrow.
 
For the Owls, Montana Frame (75, 76) enters the final round in second place, Josh Whitley (70, 82) is tied for third, David Murphy (77, 76) in fifth and Houston Knox (80, 74) tied for six.
 
College of Idaho’s Reed Burroughs tied for third place after two rounds, shooting 76 in both while Corban’s Aaron Seabrook is tied for sixth after going 78 and 76 on the day.
 
The CCC team and individual champion will be decided tomorrow with one final round of 18 at the Eagle Point Golf Club with the both earning a spot in the NAIA National Tournament scheduled for May.
