Corban Holds Early Lead in First Round of the CCC Women’s Golf Championship
EAGLE POINT, Ore. – After 18 holes, the Corban University women’s golf team earned a slight lead in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Golf Championship presented by U.S. Bank, on Monday at the Eagle Point Golf Club.
Jenna Jensen led the Warriors, turning in a score of plus-five (77) for the best performance in round one, helping her team to a total stroke score of 329.
Following Corban in the team standings are Oregon Tech at 339-strokes and College of Idaho in third with 347-strokes.
Shelby Latourette of Oregon Tech and Lexi Oropeza from C of I tied for second in the opening round with a score of 82 while Corban’s Carrie Wallace finished in fourth at plus-11 for an 83.
Play will continue tomorrow morning with one more round of 18 as they battle for a conference championship and an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament in May.
