Oregon Tech Claims Men’s Golf Tournament Championship, Goins Takes Individual honors
EAGLE POINT, Ore. – After holding a slight lead after day one, the Oregon Tech men’s golf team hung on to win the 2015-16 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Championship presented by U.S. Bank, on Tuesday at the Eagle Point Golf Club.

With a team stroke total of 920 (309, 309, 302), the Owls finished 17-strokes ahead of second-place Northwest Christian (307, 321, 309-937) to claim the title.
Corban (316, 330, 326-972) finished in third followed by College of Idaho (322, 330, 326-978) and Warner Pacific (330, 336, 325-991) in fifth.
NCU’s Josh Goins finished as the individual medalist, totaling 226-storkes (72, 77, 77-226) and will join Oregon Tech as the automatic qualifiers to the NAIA National Tournament is set for May 24-27 at TPC Deer Run in Moline, Ill.
The Owls end the year with four players named to the CCC All-Conference list in Tyler Swinton, David Murphy, Houston Knox and Josh Whitley. Whitley was also named the Player of the Year after finishing with the lowest stroke average in CCC play at 73.1-strokes per round.
Oregon Tech’s head coach Jeff Corkill was named the conference’s Coach of the Year after a voting by the coaches for the second year in a row.
