NU's Danielle Bonsky had the lone Eagle RBI in game one Eagles and Saints Split CCC Twin Bill 4/2/2016 4:52:21 PM KIRKLAND, Wash. – Carroll College’s Tess Eaton threw a 4-hitter in game one for a 5-1 victory, and Northwest University came up with a 6 run inning in the second game to earn a 6-4 win to split the Cascade Conference doubleheader this afternoon under sunny skies. Game 1 – Carroll 5, Northwest U 1 Tess Eaton struck out six Eagle batters while her offense came up with timely hits for the 5-1 win in game one. Carroll would get all the runs they would need in the first two innings scoring one in the first and four runs in the 2nd inning. Tianna Harper singled in Jaylin Kenney in the first inning for the 1-0 lead. Three doubles in the second inning led to four Saints’ runs. Jaylin Kenney doubled in two followed by Allison Bayer’s double to left center scoring Kenney. Harper then doubled to drive in Bayer to put Carroll up 5-0. Northwest U would score a single run in the bottom of the 7th, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Saints would take the first game of the twin bill. Danielle Bonsky went 2 for 4 for Northwest U (7-18, 4-11 CCC) while Allie Anderegg and Ricki Tacdol came up with the other hits for the Eagles. Kelli Peckham took the loss in the circle. Jaylin Kenney went 2 for 3, scored two runs and had 2 RBIs for Carroll (17-14, 4-7 CCC) while teammate Tianna Harper was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Allison Bayer was 1 for 3 and batted in a run. Tess Eaton pitched a complete game for the win. Game 2 – Northwest U 6, Carroll 4 In game two, the teams would battle to a scoreless tie after 4 innings of play, but Carroll would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the 5th inning when Courtney Cloud would score on an NU error. Brittany Hogan would score on a ground out after her single and moving to third on a double by Paige Blake. Darian Godfrey would lead off the bottom of the 5th inning with a single and then score on an error. Allie Anderegg’s double to center field would drive in Cara Cristion and Aubree Slocum to put the Eagles into the lead, 3-2. Anderegg would then score on a sacrifice fly by Danielle Bonsky. Savannah Rush and Ricki Tacdol would hit back-to-back doubles which would score Rush. Courtney Cox would hit a third double to right center bringing in Tacdol to give the Eagles a 6-2 lead going into the final inning. Carroll would not go away easy and would open the 7th inning with back-to-back singles. Pinch runner, Destry McNellis would be thrown out at home attempting to score on Madison Soper’s base hit. The Saints’ lone run of the inning would come from Tianna Harper’s sacrifice fly scoring Soper. But, NU pitcher Kelli Peckham would catch Courtney Cloud’s pop out to end the game. Allie Anderegg led Northwest U (8-18, 5-11 CCC) going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. Senior Ricki Tacdol was 1 for 2 with a RBI and Darian Godfrey was 2 for 3 from the plate and scored a run. Kelli Peckham pitched a complete game earning the win giving up 9 hits and walking just one. Carroll College (17-15, 4-8 CCC) was led by Courtney Cloud and Brittany Hogan who both went 2 for 3 and scored a run. Jaylin Kenney was 1 for 3 with a RBI. Mackenna Landis took the loss for Carroll going 4 2/3 innings giving up 6 runs on 8 hits.
