Thomas and Bracken Lead after Day One of the Multi-Event Championships
ASHLAND, Ore. – After day one, College of Idaho’s Tiana Thomas and Corban’s Jason Bracken hold an early lead in the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Multi-Event Championships, at Raider Stadium.
Through five events, Bracken has totaled 3,496 points, winning the high jump with a mark of 1.93-meters and the shot put with a distance of 13.13-meters.
Oregon Tech’s Seth Gretz is in second place with 3,393-points with wins in the 100-meter dash and the long jump while Southern Oregon’s Joe Dotson sits in third after a win in the 400-meter run.
Winning three out of four events so far, Thomas leads the heptathlon with 2,799 points, 320 more points than second place Irene Moore of Evergreen State. Thomas claimed top marks in the 100-meter hurdles, the shot put and the 200-meter dash.
Corban’s Lindsay Asplund has totaled 2,303 points for third place while Northwest’s Kaisa Hall is in fourth with 2,261 points.
The meet will continue tomorrow at Raider Stadium beginning at 9 a.m.
