The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Apr. 18-24.

Alex Webb
Baseball – Pitcher
 
British Columbia’s Alex Webb has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Webb, a senior from Surrey, B.C., had another dominant performance for the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday, throwing a complete-game 2-0 shutout of the College of Idaho Coyotes. He struck out 13 C of I batters without surrendering a walk.
 
Webb gave up just four hits and improved his record to 9-1. It was his third complete-game shutout of the season. He now owns an earned-run average of 1.36 this season.

Micah Brown
Baseball
 
Lewis-Clark State’s Micah Brown has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Brown, a sophomore from Medford, Ore., had a monster series, hitting .538 (7-for-13) with four doubles and two home runs, scoring eight times and driving in 11...slugged 1.308 with a .588 OBP and went 3-for-3 on the bases.

Josh Goins
Men’s Golf
 
Northwest Christian’s Josh Goins has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Goins, a freshman from Lebanon, Ore., opened with a first-round par 72 and held onto the lead for the remainder of the CCC Championship, winning the event by four strokes. Goins won the CCC Individual Medal and qualified for the NAIA National Championships.

Zach Beltz
Men’s Outdoor Field
 
Southern Oregon’s Zach Beltz has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Beltz, a freshman from Elmira, Ore., won the long jump and hit an 'A' qualifying standard at the Raider Invitational with a mark that was 13 inches longer than his previous best. His winning jump of 23 feet, 9 inches put him at No. 2 on the CCC list, No. 4 on SOU's all-time list and No. 13 on the NAIA list.

Seth Gretz
Men’s Outdoor Track
 
Oregon Tech’s Seth Gretz has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Gretz, a sophomore from Rogue River, Ore., earned the CCC Men's Decathlon title after coming in second place a year ago, winning four of 10 events including the 100-meter dash, the 110-meter hurdles, the pole vault and the long jump. His point total moved him to the No. 2 slot on the all-time list in the decathlon at Oregon Tech.
 
Bryant Sentman, the 2011 NAIA national decathlon champion, has the record with 7,097. Gretz is also now #2 nationally.

Victoria Mackey
Softball – Pitcher
 
Southern Oregon’s Victoria Mackey has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Mackey, a freshman from Benicia, Calif., tacked onto her outstanding freshman résumé with two more complete-game victories on the road in which she allowed two runs in 13 innings to help SOU clinch its first title since 2005. She improved to 15-2 with her 10th and 11th complete games and lowered her ERA to 2.02.

Kayleen Smith
Softball
 
Southern Oregon’s Kayleen Smith has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
 
Smith, a junior from Union City, Calif., went 9-for-14 on the weekend with six runs, six RBIs and five stolen bases as SOU clinched its first title since 2005. She logged her fifth and six three-hit games of the season and also stole five bases without being caught, going to 41-for-43 on the bases this season.
 
In SOU's division-clinching win Saturday in Game 1 at Northwest, she led off the 8th inning with a single, stole second and eventually scored the go-ahead run.

Jenna Jensen
Women’s Golf
 
Corban’s Jenna Jensen has been named the Red Lion Softball Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Jensen, a freshman from Kalispell, Mont., won the individual championship at the CCC Women's Golf Championships this past week, leading the Corban Warriors to their first ever CCC Tournament title, clinching a berth into the NAIA Championships in the process.

Tiana Thomas
Women’s Outdoor Field
 
College of Idaho’s Tiana Thomas has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Thomas, a senior from Middleton, Idaho, on her 2nd-straight CCC heptathlon title on Friday, breaking C of I's school record and hitting the NAIA "A" standard in the event (3rd best score in the NAIA this season) - including sweeping all three running events on the track...recorded a time of 15.06 in the 100-meter hurdles (under the NAIA "B" cut).
 
She hit the CCC qualifying standard in the 200-meters (25.92) and hit the CCC standard in the 800-meters (2:18.02) - the third fastest time in the CCC this season. Also won the shot put (9.81 meters) and the high jump (1.52 meters) and took second in the long jump (5.11 meters)

Jessa Perkinson
Women’s Outdoor Track
 
Southern Oregon’s Jessa Perkinson has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week.
 
Perkinson, a sophomore from Roseburg, Ore., ran the 5K for the first time this season in 17:12.31, crushing the previous school record of 17:25.28. Her best time last year was 18:10.16 and her new 5K time ranks third on the NAIA list. She's also broken SOU's 10K record (36:14.72) this season by 21 seconds and is an auto qualifier in that and a provisional qualifier in the 1,500 (4:40.49).
