SALEM, Ore. – The Oregon Tech men’s golf team capped off a dominating Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) 2015-16 campaign on Tuesday at the Corban Spring Invite, winning the CCC regular-season title by over 200 strokes. The Owls placed second overall at the tournament that featured 10 teams, just behind the University of Victoria (UVIC).
Oregon Tech wins its first ever CCC regular season title and is in the midst of a record-breaking season in just the third year of men’s golf at Oregon Tech. The Owls finished over 200 strokes ahead of the second place team in the conference, Corban University.

First Place: Oregon Tech (3,485 total strokes)
Second Place: Corban University (3,719 total strokes)
Third Place: Warner Pacific (3,734 total strokes)
Fourth Place: Northwest Christian (3,751 total strokes)
Fifth Place: College of Idaho: (3,760 total strokes)
Sixth Place: Walla Walla University (3,950 total strokes)
While the Owls were the regular-season champions, the CCC Championships in Eagle Point, Ore., in two weeks will determine which team gets the automatic berth to the NAIA Championships.
At the tournament on Monday and Tuesday, UVIC won with a total of 882 stokes (294, 292, 296), while Oregon Tech totaled 896 strokes over the course of the three rounds (302, 296, 298).
UVIC was paced by the tournament winner, Lawren Rowe (214), while Oregon Tech was led by Tyler Swinton who took third overall with a score of 219 (72, 73, 74). Josh Whitley also played well for the Owls and notched a three-round mark of 223 (76, 72, 75) to tie for fourth overall.
Concordia University took third as a team (924), while Corban University placed fourth (930). Corban was led by Landon Joy with a tournament total of 228 (73, 80, 75), tying for 10th overall.
Warner Pacific College took fifth (939), Simpson University placed sixth (941), and Northwest Christian University finished in seventh (952). Rounding out the scoring teams were Sierra Nevada College in eighth (955), College of Idaho in ninth (960), and Walla Walla University in 10th (1005).
The CCC Championships are set to take place on April 18-19 at the Eagle Point GC in Eagle Point, Ore.
