Hampton Earns Fifth All-America Honor, Takes 7th in 10K
GULF SHORES, Ala. –
Max Hampton earned his fifth All-America honors of his career, placing seventh overall in the finals of the 10,000-meters at the 2016 NAIA Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Mickey Blackwell Stadium.
Racing under the light, Hampton raced at his pace, working through the pack over the final kilometer to work himself into All-America position with a 25-lap time of 31:36.38.
Hampton, a two-time cross country All-American and a 2016 indoor track All-American in the 3,000-meters, will compete tomorrow in the preliminaries of the 5,000-meters – looking to repeat as an All-American in the event.
Also competing tomorrow for the Coyotes include
Dan Williams in the 5,000-meters and
Brooks Ney in the 110-meter hurdles.
