Tom Graves announced the 2016 Corban women's golf recruiting class on Monday.
SALEM, Ore. – Corban University head women's golf coach Tom Graves announced on Monday that the Warriors will be adding three to their roster for the upcoming 2016-17 campaign. This is Graves' first full recruiting class after leading Corban to the school's first-ever women's golf Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championship during the 2015-16 campaign.
"After a record-setting year, we look to continue the momentum that we have going into the 2016-17 campaign," said Graves. "These three incoming freshmen athletes will all help us accomplish this goal, as each of them have their own strengths and special talents that they will bring our team. We cannot wait to have them on campus this fall and to start working with them to help them develop their golf games and help provide them with a great college experience. Go Warriors!"
Jessica McCourt – 5' 8" – Lewis & Clark High School – Spokane, Wash.

McCourt joins the Warriors after an accomplished high school career that saw her compete at a high level all four years. During her junior and senior seasons, she was a First-Team All-League performer, and during her sophomore season, she collected Second-Team All-League plaudits. During that sophomore year, she was an alternate for the State Championships, while during her junior and senior seasons, she qualified and competed at the State Championships. During her time, her team finished three times in first place and once in second place in the league.
McCourt plans to major in Health Science with the intention of becoming a Paramedic.
"Jessica is a multi-talented athlete playing primarily soccer and golf in high school," said Graves. "She has a lot of potential and we cannot wait to see her game thrive when she focuses all of her efforts on golf in college. Welcome to the Warrior family, Jessica!"
Taylor Preston – 5' 6" – Bullard High School – Fresno, Calif.

Preston comes to Corban after playing two years of golf at Bullard High School. During her first year with the team in the 2014-15 season, she led the squad to the CMAC Championship, and then during the fall of 2015, she captained the women's golf team. On top of golf, she also led the softball team three-straight CMAC Championships.
Preston plans to major in Education with the hopes of becoming a Kindergarten teacher.
"Taylor is a natural athlete who picked up golf just a couple of years ago," said Graves. "Being primarily a softball player in high school, we see a lot of potential and room for growth in her golf game. Her commitment and dedication to everything that she does will serve her well as she competes at the collegiate level. Glad to have you joining Corban, Taylor!"
Madison Shinn – 5' 5" – Morgan High School (Morgan, Utah) – Palmyra, Mo.

Shinn comes to Corban after competing in high school in Utah while originally hailing from Missouri. As a four-year letterman for her high school squad, she garnered All-State accolades on multiple occasions and collected All-Region plaudits throughout her high school career. During her junior year, she led the team to a Regional Championship.
Shinn intends to major in Communications at Corban.
"Madison is an awesome individual who is always willing to learn and try new things," said Graves. "She is very coachable as well. We are excited to work with her to help improve her game so she can realize her full potential as a golfer. We are thrilled to have you as a Warrior, Madison!"
