Carroll Takes Top Spot in the Preseason Poll

LA GRANDE, Ore. – With nine first-place votes and 139 points, Carroll College has been selected as the favorite in the 2016 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Poll, the conference office announced.
 
Carroll finished last year going 14-5-2 overall, 9-1-1 in conference play, to claim the regular season title and went on to win the postseason tournament.
 
College of Idaho landed in second place on the poll with 117 points followed by Eastern Oregon at 115 points, both schools received one first-place vote.
 
Closing out the top half of the conference are Rocky Mountain (99 points) in fourth, Southern Oregon (92) in fifth and Northwest (78) in sixth.
 
Corban landed at number seven with 76 points in the preseason poll with one first-place vote. Rounding out the remaining teams are Great Falls (65), Oregon Tech (65), Evergreen (32), Northwest Christian (31) and Warner Pacific (28).
 
The conference postseason tournament has an eight team single-elimination format featuring the top eight finishers in the regular season standings. Conference play is set to begin Friday, Sept. 16.
