Eastern Oregon Named Favorite For 2016 Volleyball Season
LA GRANDE, Ore. – For the second year in a row, Eastern Oregon has been selected as the frontrunner for the 2016 Volleyball season after earning 117 points in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Coaches’ Preseason Poll.
Eastern totaled nine first-place votes after finishing as the regular season champions a year ago with a record of 25-6, going 18-2 in conference play.
College of Idaho came in second in the voting with 103 points. After finishing the regular season at 24-12, 16-4 CCC, C of I claimed the conference postseason tournament title for the fifth season in a row.
Southern Oregon (102 points) came in third in the poll after a second place finish in last year’s regular season standings while Northwest (93) came in fourth, both teams received one first-place vote.
Corban came in fifth in the poll with 77 points followed by Oregon Tech (60), Warner Pacific (53), Northwest Christian (48), Evergreen (36), while Walla Walla (21) and Multnomah (16) close out the poll.
