BLUE RIVER, Ore. – In his first-ever tournament with the Corban University men’s golf team, junior Zach Lund made his presence known right away, capturing medalist honors en route to leading the Warriors to the overall team championship at the New Hope Christian Invite on Monday and Tuesday.

RESULTS

The Warriors registered a team total of 602, with a second round of 293, finishing six strokes ahead of Warner Pacific College to take the team title. The second round score of 293 is better than any round the Navy and Gold recorded all year long in 2015-16.

After sitting in third place after day one, Corban finished the tournament ahead of Warner Pacific (608) which took second overall, and 15 strokes ahead of Northwest Christian University (617) which took third overall. Simpson University finished in fourth with a tournament total of 633, while the Corban University ‘B’ team took fifth with a score of 667. New Hope Christian did not finish as a team due to not having enough scoring golfers.

Finishing in first place overall as an individual at two-under par, Lund signed his scorecard with a 71 in both rounds for a tournament total of 142, winning by two strokes.

Warner Pacific’s Jeremie Eloy placed second overall with an overall even-par score of 144 (71, 73).

Coming into the clubhouse in third place was NCU’s Levi Dean with a two-over par score of 146 (72, 74), while New Hope Christian’s Trey Harbick and Corban’s Aaron Seabrook tied for fourth overall with a tournament total of 147.
