KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After winning the first set, Northwest University fell behind two sets to one to Oregon Tech before winning the final two sets to claim a five set thrilling Cascade Conference win 3-2 (25-14, 24-26, 22-25, 15-23,15-8) at Danny Miles Court.
 
Northwest stays undefeated in CCC Play and 6-2 overall with the win. OIT slips to 0-3 in CCC play and 4-5 on the season.
 
The Eagles breezed through the first set, downing Tech 25-14 as NU had a kill percentage of .226 while holding the Owls to an even .000. Mattie Jo Johnson led Northwest with 4 kills in the first set.
 
OIT stormed back, narrowly winning set two 26-24. Kelsey Sampson and Bailey Nelson had 2 kills each for Tech but it was the arm of Mykala Rubey who led the Owls with 5 kills.
 
Tech carried the momentum into the third set, winning 25-22 with Sampson knocking down 5 kills to lead the home team to the 2 sets to 1 advantage.
 
NU found its rhythm in the 4th set and finished off the Owls 25-23 to force a 5th and final set.
 
In the 5th set the Eagles stormed out to an 8-3 lead and never looked back on the way to the 15-8 5 set victory.
 
The deadly left arm of Dakota Adams led Northwest with 13 kills in the match followed by Johnson who had 12.
 
Tech was led by Rubey and Sampson who each had 16 kills in the loss.
 
Oregon Tech will look for its first CCC win of the year when they host Evergreen State Saturday at 5:00 pm at Danny Miles Court. Evergreen lost in 5 sets to SOU on Friday
