Big Blocking Night Helps Lady Yotes Stop NW Christian
CALDWELL, Idaho – Fueled by 11 total blocks, the College of Idaho opened their home season with a convincing 25-14, 25-22, 25-15 victory over Northwest Christian before a boisterous crowd inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The No. 12 ranked Lady Yotes (7-4, 2-1 CCC) extended their home win streak to 12 – pointing towards a Top-25 match-up tomorrow night at 5 p.m. against No. 24 ranked Corban.

Alaina Slater had 11 kills and a match-high six blocks, while outside hitter
Brenna Meehan had 11 kills, six digs and three blocks to headline the Lady Yotes.
Slater was key in Set 1, recording three block assists and a kill in a 6-1 C of I run that built a 14-9 lead, which extended to 20-12 after consecutive Meehan spikes – as the Yotes cruised.
C of I led 14-9 in Set 2 before the Beacons (3-6, 1-2) clawed back within 15-13 on a Kendall Bergsten kill. A stuff block by Keri Schwarz cut the Yotes lead to 24-22, but an
Ashley Pagan kill ended the set.
NCU jumped to a 4-1 lead in Set 3, only to see the hosts run off 11 of 14 points, helped by six Beacon errors, to take command of the frame and close out the win.
Randi Sturtz had six kills and four blocks;
Jayde Folsom had 38 assists and
Kilee Lopez recorded 16 digs in the victory for C of I, who improved to 19-0 all-time against the Beacons.
Taylor Burnett had 13 kills for NCU, who were hurt by 23 hitting errors. Laurie Salness had 17 assists and nine digs, with Haley Damian leading the Beacons with 15 digs.
