Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period September 5-11.
Ray Schireman
Men’s Cross Country
Southern Oregon’s Ray Schireman has been named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Schireman, a junior from Medford, Ore., and the defending CCC individual champion, made his season debut at Western Oregon's Ash Creek Invitational and completed the 6,300-meter course in 19:06.8 for runner-up status.
He was the first of four Raiders who finished in the top six, leading them to a team title.

Daniel Christenson
Men’s Soccer - Defensive
Northwest’s Daniel Christenson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Christenson, a junior from Bothell, Wash., made seven saves in the win against Whitman including a key save in the 103rd minute second overtime period to allow the Eagles to score the golden goal three minutes later for the win.

Jordan Travis
Men’s Soccer- Offensive
Northwest’s Jordan Travis has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Travis, a freshman from Bothell, Wash., scored both goals including the golden goal in the 106th minute to give Northwest U the road victory. Travis leads the team with four goals this season.

Mattie Jo Johnson
Volleyball – Attacker
Northwest’s Mattie Jo Johnson has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
Johnson, a junior from Rosalia, Wash., had a solid weekend of play in the Eagles' to road victories. Tied for team honors on Saturday in kills with 10 and hit .500 for the three set match. Had a .429 hitting average for the two matches.

Leia Roy
Volleyball - Defender
Northwest’s Leia Roy has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Defender of the Week.
Roy, a senior from Puyallup, Wash., made key defensive plays in both the Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon matches to help NU maintain their tie for the top spot in the CCC. Their win at SOU was the first victory since the Eagles defeated the Raiders in Kirkland in 2004.

Rachelle Chamberlain
Volleyball - Setter
Eastern Oregon’s Rachelle Chamberlain has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week.
Chamberlain, a senior from Challis, Wash., recorded 97 assists in three wins for the Mountaineers this week.

Jordan Monroe
Women’s Cross Country
Oregon Tech’s Jordan Monroe has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Monroe, a freshman from Central Point, Ore., broke our school record by 54 seconds and placed in the top 10 in a meet with 3 of the top west region DII 's . Her pace for 6k ran her sub 18 minutes for 5k, second in school history behind Susie Garza's national performance last year.

Lauren Hellum
Women’s Soccer Defensive
Northwest’s Lauren Hellum has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Hellum, a senior from Puyallup, Wash., earned two straight shutouts last week in 180 minutes in goal for the Eagles helping NU get off to their best start since becoming a program in 2007.

Whitney Weaver
Women’s Soccer Offensive
Northwest’s Whitney Weaver has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Weaver, sophomore from Spokane, Wash., scored the game winner in each NU victory last week. The Eagles are off to their best start since the program began in 2007.
