The Warriors Take Down the Wolves in Three Sets

College Place, Wash.- The Corban University Warriors (8-4, 4-2) demonstrated tonight why the have been so successful this season, beating the Wolves in three straight sets. Madison McClain had a strong performance for the Warriors, with 38 sets on the night and she found Alaina Gentili often, who had 17 kills.
The Wolves battled early in the first set tonight, and a kill by Maria Darling put the score at 7-11 in favor of the Warriors. After that Corban rattled off seven straight points before a Kill by Melissa Barton broke the run. It was not enough to turn the set around for the Wolves and the Warriors would go onto win 14-25.
Another tight set saw the Wolves push Corban early, a shared block by Morgan Doyle and Melissa Barton put the Wolves just one point behind at 10-11. A stretch of seven points for the Warriors and just two for the Wolves turned the match. The Wolves would put together eight more points, but Alaina Gentili ended the set with the Wolves losing 18-25.
The third set was controlled by Corban, as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, going on to win 12-25. Lauren Barlow lead the Wolves with 8 kills tonight, and Krista Schafer had 13 assists and 7 digs. The Wolves are back in action on the road this Thursday, when they take on New Hope Christian College.
