Owls Draw with Beacons 1-1 in CCC Home Opener
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Northwest Christian scored the equalizing goal in the 71st minute and the two team played two 10 minutes overtimes without a score as Oregon Tech (2-5-1, 0-0-1 CCC) and NCU (4-5-1, 1-1-1 CCC) played to a 1-1 draw at the OIT Soccer Field Friday evening.
Oregon Tech’s Tori Roberts took a great pass from Mariko Bebb just past the NCU defense, she then beat the keeper from 10 feet out giving the Owls a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.
The two teams would play a pretty even game over the next 50 minutes with neither team getting a goal until the 71st minute when Brighton Hebisen headed in a corner kick off the foot of Sami Wilson to tie the game at 1.
As the sun went down over the Sky Lakes wilderness the two team s played through two, 10 minute overtimes with neither team finding the golden goal.
OIT had a slight edge 16-14 in shots with NCU having a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal for the game.
Wilson led the Beacons with 5 shots on the day with Emily Miller chipping 3.
Bailey Pimentel came off the bench to lead the Owls with 4-shots in the game with Roberts adding 3.
Oregon Tech will host Corban University tomorrow, Saturday, September 24, at 4:00p on the Oregon Tech Soccer Field the Warriors will come into OIT after losing to Southern Oregon Friday 5-0. Northwest Christian will play at SOU in Ashland also Saturday afternoon.
