OIT Men Capture Team Title at Warner Pacific Invite
RESULTS
PORTLAND, Ore.- The Oregon Tech men captured the team title at the Warner Pacific Invite today at the Glendoveer Golf Course. The Owls overcame a six stroke deficit after the first day to win the event by two strokes.
The 36 holes on day one were played under perfect weather conditions which allowed for some low scores. Corban looked to be the team to beat after the first two rounds, as the Warriors shot 288 as a group in round two to forge a six stroke advantage. OIT was lurking in second, and host Warner Pacific was in the hunt after matching Corban's 288 in the afternoon action.
The final round was decisive for Oregon Tech, as three Owl players went under par to propel their squad into the lead.
The individual title went to Corban's Zach Lund, who ended the tourney 6-under and was atop the leaderboard from the beginning. Three players finished at 2-under and tied for 2nd place - Warner Pacific's Jeremie Eloy, OIT's Montana Frame, and Trey Harbick from New Hope Christian.
The CCC golf teams will clash again on October 10 at the Walla Walla Invite held at Wine Valley Golf Course.
