LA GRANDE, Ore. –Retired Treasure Valley YMCA CEO Jim Everett is slated to deliver the keynote address at the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) fall meetings on Sunday September 11th.

The fall meetings bring together the Council of Athlete Directors (CAD) and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for professional development and business meetings.

“I am so thrilled that Jim is available and has agreed to speak at our event,” stated Commissioner Rob Cashell. “Jim is a visionary who has dedicated his entire career to helping individuals, in particular, youth be successful.”

Retirement did not last long for Everett who was named the head swim coach at The College of Idaho in July. The position brings Everett full circle as he began his career in intercollegiate athletics as a swim coach in Marietta Ohio.

Over the 28 years he served as the CEO in the Treasure Valley the Y saw significant growth.  Membership grew from 3,000 to more than 57,000.  One of every two youth in the valley had a Y experience.  More than $100 million was raised in philanthropic support for the Y.  Annually more than $6 million was provided in financial assistance to less advantaged youth, families and seniors.  The Downtown Y was renovated and expanded and four new Y's were built and a fifth is scheduled to break ground this fall.

Everett describes his purpose as "to help people discover and fulfill their promise in life".

Everett continues to serve on numerous boards focusing on youth development, health and education.  He has been recognized as a CEO of Influence, the Idaho Voices for Children "Children's Champion", the Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce and Community Health Hero.
