Warner Pacific can't slow down SOU 12/31/2016 7:12:00 PM SOU Sports Information PORTLAND – Southern Oregon will keep streaking into 2017 after Saturday night's 80-60 thumping of Warner Pacific in Cascade Conference action at Bart Valentine Court. Casey Williams led another balanced display with her second double-double, posting 10 points and 12 rebounds in the fourth-ranked Raiders' 13th win in a row. Four others joined her in double figures: Autumn Durand (14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists), Tiani Bradford (12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists), Majerle Reeves (12 points, 6 rebounds) and Demi Sahlinger (11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists). SOU went to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the CCC – still tied in first place with Eastern Oregon and one game up on Oregon Tech – going into Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. contest against the Owls at Mountain Avenue Gym. Freshman Delaney Sparling capped a back-and-forth first quarter with a 3-pointer in the corner that put the Raiders up 15-13. That was as close as it'd be for the rest of the night. The Raiders hit nine of their first 18 attempts from downtown. Reeves accounted for four of those, including one before the second-quarter buzzer that made it 39-26. The lead expanded to 63-39 by the end of the third and was as large as 27 points when a Williams steal led to Daranda Hinkey's transition layup for an 80-53 score with 2:43 to play. SOU shot 40 percent from the field (28-of-70) and put the Knights at 21-for-56. WPC also struggled at the line, going 12-for-26. The Knights dropped to 3-12 overall and 1-4 in the CCC.
