4th Annual Mascot Challenge Voting Open
LA GRANDE, Ore. –Voting is now open open for the 4th Annual Cascade Conference Mascot Challenge. Round one will last from 8 a.m. PST Tuesday until 8 a.m. PST on Thursday.Initial voting will be done at https://www.facebook.com/CascadeCollegiateConference with the final three rounds on Twitter at @cccsports.
The opening round will consist of one group featuring all 11 school mascots with the top eight advancing to the quarterfinals. Each mascot will be seeded based on the number of votes they received in round one and the rest of the tournament will be single elimination until a champion is crowned on Feb. 9.
Fans will be able to vote for their favorite school mascot on the conference’s Facebook page in round one setting up head to head matchups that will be held on the conference twitter page for the subsequent quarterfinals, semi's and finals.
Last year, College of Idaho’s Yote the Coyote beat out No.1 seeded Cadmar of Corban University to claim the victory and defend the title won in 2015.
"Our Annual Mascot Challenge has become an event that all of our schools and fans look forward to," stated CCC Commissioner Rob Cashell." We have seen tremendous growth in our social media platforms and exposure to outstanding athletics the CCC has to offer."
An added incentive is that our conference winner will automatically gain a spot in the first ever NAIA-SIDA Mascot Challenge that will take place shortly after the conference challenge is completed. Thirty two NAIA mascots will advance to the national challenge that will also take place on twitter.
