How it Happened

Through the first 10 minutes of the game there was little to no separate between the two teams.  A layup by Kaitlyn Friesen put the Wolves up 13-10 in the middle of the first and Walla Walla looked like they had things rolling.  The Knights quickly responded, and a pair of free throws from Darbi Pink tied the game up at 16-16.  Another pair of free throws put the Wolves back up by one and they went into the second quarter up 20-19.  The Second quarter was not as productive as the first for the Wolves; Walla Walla took good shots but could not convert, and Kyeli Hendryx and Michaela Pin started to get warmed up for Warner Pacific, hitting jumpers from outside and pulling down some big rebounds.  A post move finish from Des Isaac-Pettiford put the Knights up late and they took a 38-32 lead into half time.  The Wolves stayed close through the third quarter, applying pressure to the Knights, who stayed level headed and worked the ball inside.  The game really broke open in the fourth quarter, when Darbi Pin hit back-to-back threes to push the lead up to 18 points.  Walla Walla picked up the pace in an attempt to close the gap, but they never cut the lead under 16 points in the fourth.  The Wolves went on to lose 51 to 84 in the face of the red-hot shooting of the Knights.
