LA GRANDE, ORE.- The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period January 16-22.
 

Jay Mayernik
Men’s Basketball
Northwest Christian’s Jay Mayernik has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week of the week.

Mayernik, a senior from Springfield, Ore., Averaged 18.5 points and 9 rebounds to help the Beacons win games at home against The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Against the Mountaineers he was perfect 6-of-6 from the field. Mayernik was also perfect from the charity stripe against the Yotes going 7-of -7.

Jebarri Cumberbatch

Men’s Indoor-Track
Eastern Oregon’s Jebarri Cumberbatch has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Cumberbatch, a sophomore from Christ Church, Barbados, set a school record in the 60-meter dash at the Bronco invite with a winning time of 6.91 seconds.

Ashleigh Vandenbink
Women’s Basketball
Oregon Tech’s Ashleigh Vandenbrink has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the week.

Vandenbrink, a senior from Davis, Calif., led the Lady Owls to two wins over the weekend against Northwest and Evergreen keeping OIT in second place in the CCC standings at 10-2.
 
For the weekend she tallied 36 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals. Vandenbrink went 6-of-13 from behind the arc and is now the Oregon Tech women's all-Time leader in 3 Point field goals made in a career with 264 which is just 8 away from the men's all-time record of 272.

Marta Stangel
Women’s Indoor-Field
Eastern Oregon’s Marta Stangel has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 Stangel, a senior form Enterprise, Ore., placed 16th out of 46 competitors at the Bronco invite with a throw of 12.47m which is 4th best in EOU history.
