Klamath Falls, Ore. – The No. 25 Lady Owls of Oregon Tech defeated the Lady Knights of Warner Pacific by a score of 88-57 at home on Danny Mile Court. The Owls move to 12-2 in the CCC, while the Knights drop to 2-11.

The Lady Owls opened up the game going on an 11-0 run with senior guard, Ashleigh Vandenbrink, hitting 2 of 2 from the 3-point line, before the Knights called a timeout to try and slow the play down. Tech would continue to stretch their lead throughout the first quarter of play by putting the Lady Knights under strong defensive pressure. The first half break would see Tech leading Warner Pacific 27-8.

The Knights started the second stanza of play hitting on their first two shots, both 3-pointers, by Bailey Allen and Michaela Pin, cutting the lead to 13 points. Vandenbrink would respond with a 3-pointer of her own, before the two teams would exchange a few more buckets. Tech would narrowly out score Warner Pacific 13-11 over the 10:00 minute period, as the teams entered half-time with the score 40-19.

The Lady Owls began the second half of play going on a scoring run of 12-4, with Vandenbrink hitting another two 3-pointers. Both teams would improve their offensive production, as the Owls scored 25 to the Knights 21. The game would head into the final quarter of play with the score 65-40 in favor of the home team. The game concluded seeing both teams hit shots from behind the 3-point arch. The Owls would stretch their lead to 30+ points and there it would remain to close out the game, with a final score of 88-57.
On the night, the lady Knights shot 32% from the floor, with Michaela Pin leading the way with 18 points, while Bailey Allen and Kyeli Hendryx added 11 and 10 points each.

For the Lady Owls, they shot 46% from the floor and 38% from the 3-point line. Ashleigh Vandenbrink led the way with a career-high 30 points, hitting on 8 of 13 3-pointers and going 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Bailey Nelson added 14 points of her own, while Tech had 8 other players contribute to their tally. With Vandenbrink’s performance on the day, she becomes the Oregon Tech all-time leading 3-point shooter for both men’s and women’s programs, with 275 career 3-pointers and counting.

The loss for the lady Knights drops them to 2-11 in the CCC. With the win, the lady Owls move to 12-2 in CCC play as they host rivals SOU on Tuesday, January 31 at 5:30 pm on Danny Miles Court.
