Tim Bieri, Multnomah's women's basketball coach and assistant athletics director, will be inducted into the Fort Lewis College Sports Hall of Fame Sunday in Durango, Colo.
Multnomah Women’s Cage Coach Tim Bieri Going into Fort Lewis College Hall of Fame
PORTLAND, Ore. –
Tim Bieri, assistant athletics director and women's basketball coach at Multnomah University, has been elected to the Fort Lewis College Sports Hall of Fame and will be inducted in ceremonies at his alma mater on Sunday, Oct. 15, during the Skyhawks' Homecoming Weekend in Durango, Colo.
A four-year starter for the men's basketball program from 2003-07, Bieri led the Skyhawks to the 2004-05 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular-season championship, two RMAC West Division titles, and two appearances in the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament. He ranks third on the Fort Lewis all-time lists in scoring (1,691 points), steals (181), and three-point field goals (208), fourth in blocked shots (141), fifth in field goals (590), and seventh in free throws (303).
A 6-5 forward, Bieri led the Skyhawks in blocked shots all four seasons. In 2006-07, he led the team in scoring (623 points), steals (54), free throws (124), field goals (211), and three-point field goals (77). As a junior the season before, he led FLC in scoring (510 points), rebounds (159), assists (73), steals (63), field goals (171) and three-point field goals (68).
Originally from Berthoud, Colo., Bieri earned Second Team All-Region and RMAC West Division Player of the Year honors. A two-time All-RMAC First Team, RMAC All-Academic, All-RMAC West Division First Team, Preseason All-RMAC and Preseason All-RMAC West Division honoree, he also earned RMAC All-Tournament Team honors and was named the RMAC West Division Player of the Week seven times. He was voted the Troy Bledsoe Scholar Athlete and RMAC Honor Scholar Athlete as a senior in 2006-07.
Bieri received a degree in Communications from Fort Lewis in 2007. He then worked for a media company and served as a part-time girls' high school basketball coach in Colorado for two years before joining the Multnomah staff as a men's basketball assistant under head coach
Curt Bickley for the 2009-10 season. He initiated the women's basketball program at Multnomah in 2013-14, and assumed additional duties as assistant athletics director under long-time athletics director
Lois Vos in 2015-16 when the university joined the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Tim and his wife, Sara, have a son Isaac, twins Asher and Bennett, and daughter Isabel (in heaven).
"I am deeply humbled and honored to be added to the FLC Hall of Fame," said Bieri when informed of the honor coming his way. "Fort Lewis played a huge role in the formative years of my life, and I am forever thankful for the people who poured themselves into my life during my four years in Durango. This selection is 100 percent due to my coaches, teammates, friends and family who supported, challenged, loved and encouraged me along the way."
