In a match that reflected two of the top men's soccer programs in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, The Evergreen State College and Southern Oregon battled to a 0-0 double overtime draw on Saturday at Geoduck Pitch.

The Geoducks (5-3-4 overall, 4-2-3 CCC) kept the conference-leading Raiders (8-6-1, 8-1-1) off of the scoreboard , with junior goalkeeper Ben Stevenson making six saves in registering his third clean sheet of the season.

Southern Oregon took 18 shots, including its six on frame, and limited the Geoducks to just three, all of them on goal, and all in the opening half. The Raiders outshot the Geoducks by an 11-0 margin over the final 65 minutes and 18-3 overall.

Still, Evergreen had the best scoring chance in the game when a penalty was called in the box at 27:43. Southern Oregon goalkeeper Wyatt Zabinski, who has nine conference shutouts to his credit, dove to his left to block the shot by Collin Tate. Zabinski finished the match with three saves.

While the Raiders enjoyed a statistical advantage, including a 3-1 edge in corner kicks, the Geoducks enjoyed significant spells of possession. They were unable, however, to break down a Southern Oregon defense that has given up just three goals in 10 conference matches. On the flip side, Evergreen's defense shut out a team that had scored 23 goals in its first nine contests.

Evergreen heads to Montana for its next conference action, playing at Providence on Friday and Carroll on Saturday.
