GERVAIS, Ore. – The No. 19-ranked Corban University women's cross country team showed that when at full strength, the squad is a force to be reckoned with, as on a cold and foggy Saturday morning, the Warriors dominated at the George Fox Classic, winning the race as a team.

RESULTS

"The ladies had a great race today and we had our full team running for the first time this year," said Corban head coach Norm Berney. They accomplished their goal of improving every race, and if we continue to encourage each other, this team is going to be very competitive at the CCC Championships. Our team score was one of the lowest scored Corban has ever had in a race this size and it shows how this team is bonding together."

Corban had three runners in the top 10 and four in the top 11, with Corban's fifth-fastest runner coming in at 17th overall. The Warriors were paced by Amy Jo Murphy's second-place showing in a time of 18:19.1. Rookie runner Sydney Nichol was not far behind, finishing in a time of 18:45.2 in seventh, while Hannah Clarizio took ninth with a mark of 18:52.9.

Elizabeth Oosterhout crossed the finish line in a time of 19:05.2 in 11th, while Kristina Yzaguirre placed 17th overall with a mark of 19:28.7.

The No. 19-ranked Warriors will now prepare over the course of the next three weeks for the 2017 CCC Championships, set to be hosted by Eastern Oregon University in La Grande on November 4.
