The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 9 -15.

Connor Cushman
Men’s Cross Country

Southern Oregon’s Connor Cushman has been named the Red Lion men’s cross-country Runner of the Week
 
Cushman, a senior from West Linn, Ore., led the Raiders to a team victory at the Lewis & Clark invite finishing in third place overall running the 8k race in 25:01.

Brendan Collins
Men’s Golf

Walla Walla’s Brendan Collins has been named the Red Lion men’s Golfer of the Week
 
Collins, a senior from Sacramento, Calif., notched a 10th place finish at the Coastal Collegiate Classic. The finish was the highest ever by a WWU player since joining the CCC. Collins had rounds of 73, 70, and 76 on the par 71 course.

Tulio Melo
Men’s Soccer – Defense 

Rocky Mountain’s Tulio Melo has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Melo, a junior midfielder from Minas Gerais, Brazil led a stingy RMC defense in two weekend wins at No. 6 Corban and at Northwest Christian. The Battlin’ Bears enjoyed a 6-2 scoring advantage overall.

Marco Kummerle
Men’s Soccer - Offense

Rocky Mountain's Marco Kummerle has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
 Kummerle, a sophomore from Pliezhausen, Germany, scored the winning goal as the No. 10 Battlin’ Bears defeated No. 6 Corban. He added a goal and an assist in the win over Northwest Christian the following day.

Megan Bunn
Volleyball - Attacker


Eastern Oregon's Megan Bunn has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball Attacker of the Week.
 
Bunn, a sophomore from Banks, Ore., hit .381 in the a come from behind five-set victory against Warner Pacific as EOU nearly was swept by the Knights. Bunn was dominant against Multnomah with 11 kills and 0 errors, posting a .611 hitting percentage against the Lions.

Sabrina DeJesus-Bair
Volleyball - Defender

Sabrina Dejesus-bair, of Multnomah has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball Defender of the Week.
 
Dejesus-bair, a freshman from Lynnwood, Wash., recorded 47 digs on the weekend with 25 coming in MU’s upset win over No. 8 The College of Idaho. In the loss against EOU she added 22 digs.

Matalasi Laban
Volleyball-Setter

Evergreen's Matalasi Laban has been named the Red Lion volleyball Setter of the Week.
 
Matalasi, a freshman from Portland, Ore., amassed 46 assists and 9 digs in the Geoducks win over Northwest Christian.  Her 27 assists and 13 digs the previous night against Corban were a weekend total of 73 assists and 22 digs as Evergreen went 1-1.

Jessa Perkinson
Women’s Cross Country

Southern Oregon’s Jessa Perkinson has been named the Red Lion women’s cross-country Runner of the Week
 
Perkinson, a senior from Roseburg, Ore. dominated a field of 128 runners at the Lewis & Clark Invite winning by a full 21 seconds. The nine-time NAIA All-American's official time was 21:11.8 in SOU's third straight 6K.

Bethany Bullers
Women’s Golf

Corban’s Bethany Bullers has been named the Red Lion women’s Golfer of the Week
 
Bullers, a freshman from La Quinta, Calif., earned medalist honors at the Coastal Collegiate Classic with rounds of 71 and 82 to win by five strokes. Her 1-under par 70 is a new school record for low round.

Kat Sanchez

Women’s Soccer – Defense

Kat Sanchez of Northwest has been named the Red Lion women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Sanchez, a sophomore goalie from Arlington, Wash., was stellar in goal for the entire 180 minutes of the weekend. Against SOU she allowed only one goal while recording seven saves in the victory.
 
Against Oregon Tech Sanchez earned a shutout as her Eagles prevailed 1-0.

Women’s Soccer – Offense  

 Providence's Eme McLaughlin has been chosen as the Red Lion women's soccer Offense Player of the Week.

McLaughlin, a sophomore from Great Falls, Mont., led the Lady Argo’s with an assist and a goal in the programs first ever victory over Carroll College. The winning goal came in the 2 OT period. McLaughlin leads her team with six goals on the year.
