KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- Kylie Cowell scored the game’s only goal in the 21st minute, lifting Oregon Tech (9-6, 7-3 CCC) to a 1-0 Cascade Conference win over Carroll College (7-7-2,3-5-2 CCC) Friday afternoon at the Oregon Tech Soccer Field.

The win moved the Lady Owls into 4th place, just a half game behind Corban for third place. The win for Oregon Tech was the first ever as the Owls entered the game with a 0-7 mark against the Fighting Saints.

Third year Head Coach Brandon Porter on his team’s performance today, “"Absolutely 100% all credit to the team. They are playing with a lot of confidence and team chemistry right now. They have embodied the blue collar mentality and competitive spirit we ask for on a daily basis. That is a very well coached Carroll team with a tradition of success, and to shut them out 1-0 in the manner that we did was certainly impressive. Very proud of the ladies and looking forward to honoring our three seniors, Megan, Brenna, and Bailey tomorrow against Providence."

Cowell’s goal came in the 21st minute as she took a long cross from Cassidy Gosvener just outside the 18 and scored in the lower left of goal for the game winner.

Tech outshot Carroll 15-5 and also held a 3-2 edge in shots on goal.

Oregon Tech will wrap-up the regular season Saturday at 2:30 pm as they host the University of Providence on Senior Day at the OIT Soccer Field.
