KIRKLAND, Wash. – No. 7 Rocky Mountain College used an onslaught of 32 shots, 29 in the first half to post a convincing 6-1 Cascade Conference victory over Northwest University this afternoon on the NU Athletic Field. Marco Kummerle scored a hat trick for the Bears with three first half goals.
 
Senior Kyle Zimmerman gave Northwest U their lone goal of the game just 2:19 into the game as the ball would come down the left side and Obi Esonu would place a cross right at the left corner of the goal where Zimmerman one touched it into the goal.
 
The Eagle lead would last until the 11th minute when Marco Kummerle would bend a left footer from the right side into the upper right corner of the net. Sam Davidson with the assist.
 
RMC’s offense would continue to press hard and four more goals would come before the end of the first half: Tulio Melo, unassisted at 28:40, from the right side 16 yards off a defender’s header; Kummerle again unassisted in the 31st minute as he beat an NU defender on the left side for a 15 yard right footer; Matthew Thomas, unassisted as he dribbled on the right side, 17 yards out; and Kummerle again at 44:58 on a penalty kick after he was brought down in the box.
 
Northwest U would limit Rocky Mountain to 9 shots in the second half and a single goal. Mason Luse would complete the scoring for the Battlin’ Bears in the 62nd minute scoring unassisted with a left footer from the left side, into the right corner.
