KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University won the battle of the shots, but in the end it was Rocky Mountain College coming out on top of the final score with a 2-1 Cascade Conference victory over the Eagles. NU held a 20-13 edge on shots for the game, 12 shots on goal. It was senior day for three Eagle senors and their families.
 
Stephanie Wilson got the Eagles off to a good start with an unassisted goal in the 38th minute as she put in a deflection off her penalty kick for the score. NU came close to a second goal in the 29th minute with the RMC keeper out of the goal, a Bear player came up with a key save on Ashley Evanger’s shot for the left side.
 
The Battlin’ Bears from Billings, Montana, equaled the score at 42:15 when Amber Pearson scored off a deflection from the right side, 7 yards out. The half would end with the two teams tied at 1-1.
 
Lauryn Gamache would get the game winner on another deflection off her own free kick from 14 yards out on the left side. Northwest U would have three shots in the final nine minutes, but none would find the mark.
 
Maia Wetzel earned the win in goal playing 75 minutes and making 7 key saves for Rocky Mountain (13-3, 9-2 CCC).  Samantha Kelley finished the game in goal with 3 saves. Emily Browne led RMC with 4 shots, one shot on goal.
 
Northwest U (9-8, 6-5 CCC) was led by Nadine Huff’s 4 shots with 3 shots on goal. Stephanie Wilson finished with 2 shots, 2 shots on goal with one score. Kat Sanchez made 5 saves in goal for the Eagles.
