Eagles Take Down Wolves

College Place, Wash. –For the first 20 minutes of the match, Walla Walla managed to keep Northwest University off the scoreboard before Chris Iacolucci checked in and scored back-to-back goals. The Eagles went on to score 7 goals in a win of the Wolves.
The Wolves did a good job of controlling the ball through the midfield today, but most attempts to push the ball up the field were met by Eagle defenders Max Schellmann and Payton Gunhus. Schellmann did an excellent job of cutting off any attacks from the Wolves, and late in the first half, he put a ball up over the Wolves defense to Obi Esonu who put the ball into the top right corner of the net. The Wolves went into the second half down 4-0.
At the beginning of the second period, Iacolucci gathered in a pass from Esonu for his third goal of the match. The Wolves were able to break through the Eagles defense a bit better in the latter part of the game but were not able to come up with a goal. The Eagles would score twice more, and defeated the Wolves 7-0. Keeper Daniel Christenson recorded the shutout.
