EUGENE, Ore. – The Corban University women’s soccer team knocked off NCU 2-1 in Saturday night’s CCC match, snapping a two-game skid with the victory.

The first half saw scores from both teams, with Corban striking first. At ten minutes in, Lexi McQueary took a pass from Nadine Correa and put it past the left of the keeper. Britnee Joaquin tied it up for the Beacons shortly after, scoring on a penalty kick in the 24th minute.

The Warriors (7-5-1, 4-2-1 CCC) had the edge on shots over the Beacons, getting off 15 to NCUs’ five. The difference maker came off the foot of Annouscka Kordom in the 62nd minute, a five-yard strike off a short pass from Macy Goodwin.

Northwest Christian (1-8, 1-6) had five shots-on-goal during the match, led by Maggie McCausland with two. Making her first career start between the pipes, freshman Makenna Hadaller recorded six saves in the game.

Both teams are back in action on Friday October 13th at 7:00 p.m. hosting CCC opponents. NCU will host College of Idaho, while Corban will welcome Rocky Mountain College (Montana).
