College Place, Wash. – Rocky Mountain College hit 20 three-points in a runaway victory over Walla Walla.  The Wolves struggled the majority of the game to get their offense going, shooting 18.8% from the field.

The Battlin' Bears built a 3-17 lead after the first quarter with a balanced attack using their powerful post players, Brooke Jones and Markaele Francis, to open up shooters on the perimeter.  The Wolves struggled to get quality shots to fall, as they just missed on several drives and three-point attempts that rimmed out.

The second quarter would prove to be the most hotly contested of the games.  The Wolves came alive on offense scoring 18 in the quarter.  But the Bears proved difficult to stop, as they pulled down several big offensive rebounds that result in three-pointers.  The bears shooting really picked up in the second quarter, hitting five three-pointers, a theme that would continue in the second half.  Rocky Mountain went into halftime up 43-21.

In the second half, the bears began to rain threes from deep.  They would connect on 12 in the second half.  Walla Walla was not able to break down the Bear's tough interior defense, which resulted in not scoring a basket in the third quarter.  Rocky Mountain's Justyn Juhl, who led the Bears in scoring with 17, got hot in the third quarter, nailing four three-pointers.

The scoring didn't slow down for Rocky Mountain in the fourth, who put up 25 points on the way to a 96-27 victory over Walla Walla.  Rocky Mountain had six players reach double figures.  Walla Walla's Michaela Garcia led the team in scoring with six points.

Walla Walla Battles the Bears once again tomorrow.  Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
