Conference Basketball Action Tips Off Tonight, and Weekend

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Corban University and Northwest Christian University will get the 2017-18 men’s and women’s basketball conference seasons underway tonight as the Beacons visit the Warriors. The remainder of the league’s teams will enter conference play this weekend as the chase for CCC titles begin in earnest.
 
Tuesday November 28 – NCU at Corban
The Northwest Christian women’s team enters the contest posting their best start in program history at 7-0. The Beacons were selected to finish third in the coaches preseason poll while Corban was slated in the sixth spot and enters CCC play with a 2-3 record.
 
The last time the Corban men’s team played NCU the No. 8 seeded Warriors knocked off the No. 1 seeded Beacons in the 2016-17 tournament. Both teams carry an identical 3-2 record into tonight’s CCC opener. NCU was selected to finish fourth this year while Corban was pegged in the sixth spot.
 
The women’s game will start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
 
Friday December 1- TESC at WPC, NU at MU
 
The Evergreen State College women will visit Bart Valentine Court on Friday to take on Warner Pacific College. TESC women enter CCC play with a 0-2 non-conference record while WPC is at 3-5. Coaches voted TESC eighth and WPC tenth in the preseason poll.
 
Northwest University and Multnomah University women will tangle on Friday in Portland. The Eagles, picked fifth, enter league play with a 1-5 record while the Lions have had a rough start with a 0-8 slate thus far.
 
In men’s action TESC at 0-4 and picked ninth will have their hands full with the 5-3 Knights. WPC was picked to finish in fifth place in league standings.
 
Northwest at 6-4 will look to start CCC play with a win over the 2-4 Lions of MU. NU was selected to finish seventh while MU was picked in the tenth spot.
 
Saturday December 2- EOU at SOU, CI at OIT, CRB at WWU
In a rematch of last season’s tournament championship game the EOU women will travel to Ashland to battle SOU. The Mountaineers are picked to win the CCC title this year and enter the contest with a 6-2 mark while SOU is 7-1. The Raiders were selected to finish second.
 
The College of Idaho women take on the Oregon Tech Lady Owls at Danny Miles Court. The Yotes are 0-6 while Tech is 5-3 in non-conference action.
 
The Eastern Oregon men have a perfect 8-0 record headed into the contest with SOU. The Raiders are at 5-3 and are picked in the second spot in the preseason poll while EOU was picked to finish eighth.
 
The College of Idaho men have been selected to win the CCC title and enter the game against Oregon Tech with a 6-3 record. The Hustlin’ Owls own the same 6-3 record and are picked third in the preseason poll.
 
After their Tuesday travel partner games against NCU the Warriors will head to College Place, Washington to take on the Wolves of WWU. WWU is picked in the eleventh and final spot in both men’s and women’s coaches polls. The women enter league play with a 2-3 record while the men are 4-5.

Sunday December 3- EOU at OIT, CI at SOU, CRB at WWU
