KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- Junior Chase Bohman had a game high 19 Kills to lead Oregon Tech past Northwest Christian 3-2, (25-17, 29-27, 20-25, 19-25, 15-8) Friday night in Cascade Conference play at Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech improves to 8-11 in CCC play and 10-14 overall with NCU falling to 10-9 in the CCC and 15-9 on the year.
OIT took control early winning the first set from start to finish 25-17. The second set however was a real battle with NCU taking a 27-26 lead before Tech won the final three points to win 29-27.
The Beacons came out strong taking the third set 26-20. Set 4 was tied at 13-13 before NCU used three different 3-0 runs to win 25-19 and force a fifth set.
OIT took an early 7-3 in the final set, the beacons took the next two points to cut the Owl lead to 7-5 then the Owls got hot and the next five points to take a commanding 12-5 lead. NCU cut it to 13-8 but a Faryn Case kill followed by Bohman’s final kill game the Owls the set and match win.
Cheyanne Laber followed Bohman with a nice game that included 16 kills and a team high three blocks with Tech’s Case adding another 14 kills in the win.
Jaime Toedtemeier had 42 assist and Paige Bruce added 21 digs to lead OIT.
Claire Salness had 13 Kills with Megan Van Marter having a game high 8 blocks to lead the Beacons at the net. Maci Beierle had a game high 46 assists and Haley Damian added 21 digs in the loss for NCU.
Head Coach Andrew Clifton on his team’s night. “I was proud of how hard we fought tonight. Cheyanne Laber came through for us with her blocking late in the match and we served tough as a team all night.”
Oregon Tech will host No. 10 Corban University tomorrow night on senior night at 5:00 pm at Danny Miles Court with Northwest Christian traveling to Ashland to take on Southern Oregon University.
