KIRKLAND, Wash. – The NU Eagles and Grace Bible College played a closely contested game for 40 minutes with Grace Bible pulling out the 67-64 victory tonight in the fnal game of the Taylor Cliett Invitational.
 
The game would see 15 ties as neither team would be able to gain the upper hand until the very end. Six lead changes would mark the first half. With 4:57 remaining in the first half Caleb Anderson would drill a 3-pointer to put the Tigers from Michigan up 28-23. But, the Eagles would chip away at that lead and with 1:29 to go, Josh Meyer would score inside the paint for make it a one point, 28-27, game. Justice Martion would then tip in a missed shot to give NU a 29-28 lead with 43 seconds on the clock, but GBC would come right back with a basket with 13 seconds left to take a 30-29 lead into halftime.
 
The second half would be as close as the first with 7 ties and 14 lead changes. Daniel Ghebremichael's driving lay-up at the 6:45 mark would give NU a 54-50 lead. Another 3-pointer by Anderson would put Grace ahead 58-56 at the 4:57 mark. After an Alex Smith dunk and a slim, 62-61 Eagle lead, the Tigers would take the lead for good on a lay-up by Winchester-Jones with 3 minutes to go. Neither team would score for the next 3 minutes until a 3-pointer by GBC's Marcus Chandler would put the Tigers up 66-62 as they would hold on down the stretch to earn the victory.
 
Northwest U's (4-1) Justice Martion led all scorers with 20 points. Freshman Josh Meyer would drop in 1o points and two more freshman, Jasdeep Singh and Tanner Davis would each score 8. Both teams shot an identical 43% for the game and rebounds would be even at 41-41.
 
Caleb Anderson led Grace Bible (3-1) with 15 points. Bernard Smith had a double double with 14 points and 13 rebounds with Adam Kregel scoring 10 points.
 
"This game challenged us and we played much better tonight than last night," said interim coach, Jeff Drinkwine. "Grace Bible is a very good team and comes out of the Midwest where there are a number of strong teams. We still need to clean up some things, but I'm pleased with the contribution the young players are making. Our injuries have forced them to mature quickly on the court."
