Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 30 - November 5.
Mitchell Fink
Men’s Basketball
Mitchell Fink of Oregon Tech has been named the Red Lion men’s basketball Player of the Week
Fink, a sophomore from Clackamas, Ore., finished with a double-double in the team’s matchup against William Jessup with 30 points and 13 assists. Over the week, Fink averaged 26 points per game.

Nic Maszk
Men’s Cross Country
Eastern Oregon’s Nic Maszk has been named the Red Lion men’s cross-country Runner of the Week
Maszk, a senior from Baker City, Ore., won the 2017 CCC Cross Country Championships for the 2nd straight year with a finishing time of 25:23.

Paul Matyas
Men’s Soccer – Defense
Southern Oregon’s Paul Matyas has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Matyas, a junior from Anchorage, Alaska, played every minute in anchoring SOU’s 11th and 12th shutouts of the season.

John Hensley
Wrestling
#4 John Hensley of Providence has been named the Red Lion Wrestler of the Week
Hensley, a sophomore from Boise, Idaho and returning All-American, was dominant in a major decision win against a talented JUCO wrestler from North Idaho College in his first match of the season. He helped UP beat NIC 29-9. In the Argo’s second 38-9 win over Eastern Oregon, Hensley faced a fellow returning All-American, #9 Eric Fan and held a 3-0 lead before pinning Fan in the second round.

Alaina Gentili
Volleyball - Attacker
Corban’s Alaina Gentili has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball Attacker of the Week.
Gentili, a senior from Spokane Valley, Wash., led Corban to a pair of five-set comeback victories over the weekend, racking up 36 kills in the process. The Warriors captured their first-ever CCC regular-season title thanks to these two wins.

Alysanne Van Dyke
Volleyball - Defender
Alysanne Van Dyke of Northwest has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball
Defender of the Week.
Van Dyke, a senior from Edmonds, Wash. led the team in defensive digs again this weekend in NU’s two straight victories and helped lead the Eagles to the third most wins in program history and one shy of their best conference mark. Alysanne averaged 6.5 digs per set in the two matches.

Marija Djonovic
Volleyball-Setter
Marija Djonovic of College of Idaho has been named the Red Lion volleyball Setter of the Week.
Djonovic, a junior from Podorica, Montenegro, led the Lady Yotes to two huge wins. Over the weekend, she recorded a season 3-set high in assists against EOU, and her 13th double-double of the year versus WWU. Djonovic leads the NAIA in assists per set with 11.6.

Stormee Van Belle
Women’s Basketball
Eastern Oregon’s Stormee Van Belle has been named the Red Lion women’s basketball Player of the Week
Van Belle, a senior from Sunnyside, Wash., finished with a double-double in the team’s season opener against Bethesda with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Then followed up with 17 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in a close 81-73 road win at William Jessup. Van Belle shot .688 from the floor, adding seven assists and two blocks.

Jessa Perkinson
Women’s Cross Country
Jessa Perkinson of Southern Oregon has been named the Red Lion women’s cross-country Runner of the Week
Perkinson, a senior from Roseburg, Ore., became the first Raider to ever win the conference championship, clearing the field by nearly 18 seconds. The 2017 season will be Perkinson’s third year in a row being named an All-CCC runner.

Chelsey Nicol
Women’s Soccer – Defense
Eastern Oregon’s Chelsey Nicol has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Nicol, a junior from Rio Rancho, N.M., assisted on EOU’s second goal in a 2-0 win over C of I in CCC Championship semifinals on Saturday. Nicol helped lead the Mounties to back-to-back shutouts from center back position. She also, limited Providence to just one shot with none on goal in a 1-0 shutout on Friday in the quarterfinals.

Katie Michkiosky
Women’s Soccer – Offense
Katie Michkiosky of Northwest has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Michkiosky, a junior from Wenatchee, WA, scored the game winner and clincher in the come-from-behind upset of Corban in Saturday’s CCC semifinal game.
