The #8 team in the country, Eastern Oregon University, came to town Friday morning and despite the cold weather outside, came out hot, hitting their first four shots of the game to quickly take a 10-0 lead. Thirteen first quarter points from Maya Ah You Dias and 71% shooting from field as a team, including 6-9 from 3pt range, paced the Mountaineers. Alyssa Blankenship led the Wolves early with six points and Sarah Halversen put in seven of her own to close the quarter strong. With the Wolves posting one of their better scoring quarters of the season, it was 32-17 to end the 1st.

A Kai Chamberlain floater for the Wolves opened the 2nd quarter but the Mounties would then score the next eight. Consistent three-point shooting (13 at the half) led to another 32-point quarter and at halftime the Mounties led 64-28.

The second half continued in the same fashion with the Mountaineers extending their lead by forcing turnovers and consistent shot making. For the game EOU finished with 29 assists, and shot 55% from the field, making 19 three-point shots. The game ended with a score of 101 to 41.

Ah You Dias was one of six Mounties in double-figures, leading her team with 17 points. Halversen had a game-high 18 points, as well as six rebounds, and Alyssa Blankenship finished with 15 points and six boards.

With the win, EOU moves to 6-0 in conference play and stays atop the league standings. The loss drops the Wolves to 0-5 in CCC play. The teams will meet again tomorrow evening at 6:00 PM on the campus of WWU.
