NAMPA, Idaho – The EOU track & field team capped the 2017 indoor regular season with authority, posting three school records, three NAIA ‘A’ standard marks, and five provisional efforts at the BSU Team Challenge on Saturday afternoon.

One of those ‘A’ standards included a school-record in the prelims of the 60m hurdles, as junior Matthew Kirkendall lowered his time to 8.20 seconds to reach the finals, where he won with a time of 8.26.

To open the morning, the Mountaineers saw the foursome of senior Kendall Current, senior Rachel Roelle, junior Faith Homer, and freshman Elizabeth Herbes clock an NAIA ‘A’ standard mark of 12:24.75 in the distance medley relay. EOU took second in the event.

In the high jump, senior Harley McBride finally notched the provisional mark of 1.62m (5-3.75) she was looking for, as did her sophomore counterpart Paige Dodd for the second time this season.

Going the (middle) distance for EOU, senior Nic Maszk topped his season-best time in the 3000m run by nearly five seconds, as he crossed the finish line at the 8:41.47 mark to hit the NAIA provisional time.

To cap the late afternoon, the women’s 4x400m relay team of Dodd, Herbes, Current, and sophomore Katie Emerson took first with an NAIA ‘A’ standard time (3:59.22) before the men’s quartet of Kirkendall, Cumberbatch, junior Josh Wallin, and sophomore Thomas Morrell III breezed to a first-place finish with a school-record and provisional time of 3:21.04.

In the sand pit, sophomore Morgan Reddington smashed a school record in the triple jump by over five inches, leaping 5.42m (17-9.50) en route to taking fifth overall. Meanwhile, senior Jennifer Peters recorded the second-best triple jump in program history with a mark of 10.63m (34-10.50).

Sophomore Jebarri Cumberbatch simply dominated on the track, winning the 60m dash with a time of 6.94 before placing fourth in the 200m dash thanks to an effort of 22.14.

As seen below, several other Mountaineers made splashes in the record books, including sophomore Shemar Goodridge (60m dash), sophomore Jakob DeWald (5K), sophomore Jack Howard (5K), sophomore Lane Inwards (5K), freshman Porter Cline (pole vault), freshman Payton Jolley (60m dash), freshman Brylee Moyle (5K), and freshman Victoria Branch (triple jump).
