SEATTLE, Wash. - The Northwest University Eagle distance medley relay continues to turn heads and improve as they bested their previous NAIA No. 1 time Friday night at the Husky Classic at the University of Washington in Seattle.

The team, adding Emma Horn for Shandon Lystad, currently out of country for Nursing major obligations, ran a 12:04.19, improving on their previous time of 12:04.35 set earlier at the UW. Cassidy Brown, Lily Engelbrekt and Sarah Estabrook made up the rest of the team. According to Coach Mark Mandi, the team finished about one second in front of Southern Oregon.

The Eagles finished 9th overall in a field of 18 teams primarily comprised of NCAA Division I and II schools. Stanislaus State's "A" team edged NU by less than a second for 8th and Southern Oregon's DMR finished tied for 10th with Cal State Fullerton at 12:05.41. Alaska Anchorage won the event with Colorado State in second and California in third.

The time will be adjusted slightly due to the configuration of the Dempsey Indoor track, but it will still be the No. 1 time in the NAIA again this week.
