EUGENE, Ore. – Fresh off of what has been deemed "
The Dunk" against Warner Pacific College on Saturday, Northwest Christian University Senior Brendyn Taylor has been selected as one of 16 players to participate in the 2017 Dark Horse Dunker Competition, a bracket-style on-line voting contest where the winner will receive an invitation to the State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship.
Taylor joins 2016 senior Javonte Byrd as the second NCU player in as many seasons to be chosen. He will go up against Trayvon Palmer from Division I Chicago State University in the first round.
Voting begins at 10:00 am PST and fans can vote daily, once per device, at
DarkHorseDunker.com throughout the four-week competition.
The 16 “Dark Horse Dunkers” participating in the contest were selected by a committee representing the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships. The Dark Horse Dunker selection has gone on to win the State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship in three of the first six years.
