PORTLAND, Ore. – The Lady Lions (7-20, 5-14 CCC) dropped the first game on the final weekend to visiting Northwest University (14-15, 9-10 CCC) by a score of 77-52. Miranda Schmillen led the Lions with 15 points and 7 rebounds.

Visiting Northwest University struck first on Friday night, jumping out to an 8-0 lead in the opening three minutes. Multnomah battled back against the Eagles, tying things and then taking control, 12-10, off a Miranda Schmillen jumper with 2:19 remaining. The lead was short-lived for the Lady Lions, with an 8-0 burst from Northwest in the final two minutes, taking a 20-12 lead. Multnomah continued to fight in the first half, despite shooting 24 percent from the field. At the half, the Eagles took a 36-26 lead.

Third quarter play kept the Lions within competitive distance, 54-43. The final quarter distanced the Eagles from Multnomah, with a 16-4 start to give Northwest a commanding 70-47 lead with 4:07 left on the clock. Kayla Hyppolite sparked some offense off the bench for Multnomah, scoring 11 points. Lacie Kamper added 7 points with 12 rebounds (6 offense & 6 defense) for the Lions. For the Eagles, Miranda Langenhorst put together a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.

What's Next?
Multnomah (7-20, 5-14 CCC) wraps up their season tomorrow night (Feb. 18) at home against Evergreen State College (7-19, 6-13 CCC) for a chance at postseason play. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm at Jim Skagen Court with live streaming & stats provided at gomulions.com.
