EUGENE, Ore. – Already in a fierce battle in the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker competition, NCU senior Brendyn Taylor was announced on Monday as a selection for the NABC-NAIA Shoot and Slam, presented by U.S. Bank.
The dunk festivities take place March 18 at 4 p.m. CDT and are in conjunction with the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., one week after NCU participates in the NAIA Division II National tournament.
Three of the four contestants were announced on Monday; Taylor, Brendan Chapman from Science and Arts University in Oklahoma, and Johnny Griffin Jr. of Loyola College in Louisiana. The fourth and final dunker will be selected using a fan vote on Instagram.
Tuesday is also the final day to vote in the first round of the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker competition and Taylor has fallen behind his opponent. Fans are encouraged to vote one more time in the once-daily voting competition by visiting
