No. 19 EOU Women’s Hoops Breezes Past Warner Pacific, 67-43.

PORTLAND, Ore. – The 19th-ranked EOU women's basketball team rolled to its sixth straight win defeating Warner Pacific, 67-43, Saturday evening inside the Bart Valentine Court.
 
Junior guard Payton Parrish led the way for the Blue and Gold shooting 7-of-15 from beyond the arc for 21 points along with five boards. Junior guard Maya Ah You (Dias) registered 13 points, three rebounds and three assists, while junior forward Stormee Van Belle chipped in 11 points with nine rebounds.

Bailey Allen for Warner Pacific scored a game-high 26 points and recorded three rebounds with four steals.

EOU (21-4, 14-2 CCC) had the hot hand early as Parrish scored the first nine points (12 in the first period), shooting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, which prompted Warner Pacific (4-22, 2-14 CCC) to call a timeout. After the break, the Knights went on a 14-3 run to cap the first period, leading by only two (14-12).

The second frame belonged to the Mountaineers as they outscored the Knights 18-7. Five members of the Blue and Gold scored in the period with Van Belle dropping seven of her 11 points in the frame, to head into the locker room with a nine-point lead (30-21).

In the third period EOU took control of the game, going on a 19-8 spurt that was highlighted by Ah You Dias and senior guard Donniesha Webber combining for 15 points. The Mounties defensively held WPC to only 33 percent (4-of-12) from the field.

With a 20-point lead (49-29) to start the fourth period, both teams exchanged three-pointers in the first few minutes but it was Parrish's three at the 4:43 mark that gave EOU its largest lead of the game (29) and would go on to outscore the Knights, 18-14.
