Oregon Tech Women’s Basketball Named Team of the Week
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Oregon Tech women’s basketball team has been named the “Team of the Week” for January 30-February 5, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The No. 25 Lady Owls handed the No. 3 ranked Southern Oregon University Raiders their first loss in CCC action and only their second loss of the season with a 72-69 victory at Danny Miles Court in Klamath Falls on Tuesday night. The win also snapped SOU’s 21-game winning streak.
Junior Baylee Toney led the squad with a career high 20 points. Nohea Waiwaiole added 18 points, while reigning CCC player of the week Ashleigh Vandenbrink chipped in 13 points. For the night Oregon Tech shot 46 percent from the floor
Tech added another “W” to the win column as the also defeated Walla Walla University on Saturday 114-41 to end the weekend.
Oregon Tech (21-5, 14-2 CCC) will hit the road for key matchups in the second to last weekend of CCC play as they travel to The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University on Feb. 10-11.
