MEDFORD, Ore. - College of Idaho swept a Cascade Conference doubleheader from No. 19 Oregon Tech 4-1 in game 1 and 8-3 in game 2 at US Cellular Fields Friday afternoon. The Yotes improve to 5-8 overall and 3-2 in CCC play with Oregon Tech slipping to 10-5 overall and 2-3 in CCC play.

The Lady Yotes used a 3-run seventh inning rally to win Game 1, 4-1, while a 5-run third inning was the big blow in an 8-3 victory in game 2.

Game 1 – College of Idaho 4 Oregon Tech 1

Game one started as a real pitcher’s duel between Kelly Scott of OIT and C of I’s Colette Robert with each pitcher putting zeros on the scoreboard until Tech scratched across a run in the bottom 4th on 2-singles to take a 1-0 lead.

The Yotes quickly answered with 1-run of their own in the top of the 5th on 2-hits highlighted by an Angelina Romero double, tying the game at 1-1.

College of Idaho then broke the game open with 3-runs in the top of the 7th on 4-hits and an OIT error to take a 4-1 lead.

Tech couldn’t rally in the bottom of the 7th as the Yotes picked up the win.

Game 2 – College of Idaho 8 Oregon Tech 3

College of Idaho scored 1-run in the 1st inning and then added 5-runs in the 3rd on 5-hits and 3-walks to take a 6-0 lead.

Rachael Delemare hit a towering home run in the bottom of the 3rd for Tech to close the gap to 6-2; it was her first homer of the year.

C of I added 1-run in the 5th on 3-hits and 1-run in the 6th to take an 8-2 lead.

Tech managed 1-run in the bottom of the 5th but couldn’t muster much offense all day as the Yotes won 8-3 to take the doubleheader sweep.

College of Idaho was very happy to see senior Destiny Turner make her season debut as she was 4 for 8 in the two games including a 3 for 4 in game two.

Katelyn Geyer also had 3-hits in game 2 for the Yotes with Delaney Atkins, Hailey Chambers, and Romero all adding 2-hits each in game 2.
