KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.-  College of Idaho swept Oregon Tech Monday afternoon 9-3 in game one and 8-1 in game 2 in an NAIA-West doubleheader at Kiger Stadium. The Yotes improve to 13-12 on the year and 6-2 in NAIA-W action with the sweep. Tech falls to 7-13 on the year and 4-6 in NAIA-W play with today’s result.
 
Game 1 - College of Idaho 9, Oregon Tech 3
 
Pitcher, Niall Manning, picked up the win for the Yotes, while Riley O’Brien picks up his second save of the season, coming into the game bottom of the 6th. Manning ­­­gave up 3- runs on 6- hits, while striking out 5-batters. O’Brien gave up just 2-hits with no runs scored, striking out 6-batters.
 
C of I took the lead in the second inning, driving in 2-runs on 4-hits. Bobby Wright added a solo home run in the top of the third inning to bring the score 3-0.
 
Tech found their bats in the fourth inning, bringing in 2-runs on 3-hits, taking the score 3-2.
 
The Yotes responded in the fifth inning, bringing in 3-runs, and pushing the score 6-2, before Blake Wrotenbery hit a triple and was driven home by an Alex Paz double. The fifth inning ended at 6-3.
 
Innings six, seven and nine, saw the Yotes bring one runner home, taking the final score to 9-3.
 
The Yotes had 15-hits and 8-RBI’s in the game and were led by Dominic Conigliaro with 3-hits and 1-RBI.
 
Tech had 8-hits with 3-RBI’s, led by Alex Poltz with 2-hits and 1-RBI.
 
Game 2 - College of Idaho 8, Oregon Tech 1
 
Yotes pitcher, Miles Bigelow, picks up the win for C of I, throwing 8-innings allowing just 4-hits and 1-run.
 
The Yotes started the game with hot bats, driving in 5-runs on 6-hits, with four singles, one double, and one triple by Austin Van Horne picking up 3-RBI’s. C of I added 2 more runs in the third inning on a 2-run homer by Van Horne for another 2-RBI’s.
 
Tech found their loan run of the game in the 4th inning on a single by Kai Fong brining Evan Johnson home.
 
C of I added one more run in the 5th inning, before solid pitching and defensive play for both teams closed out the game.
 
The Yotes were led by Van Horne in hitting with 2-hits and 5-RBI’s. Dominic Conigliaro also had 2-hits and 1-RBI. Six other Yotes batters contributed with hits in the game.
 
Oregon Tech was led at the plate by Alex Poltz with 2-hits in the game. Adam Kandra picks up the loss from the mound for the Owls.
 
Oregon Tech will continue its 22 game home stand next Saturday and Sunday hosting British Columbia at Kiger Stadium first pitch Saturday is scheduled 1:00 pm and 11:00 am on Sunday.
