Thunderbirds Slam Past Owls
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- Kyle McComb hit a grand slam home run as British Columbia scored 8-runs in the top of the 9th inning to break open a 6-5 game as the Thunderbirds won game one 14-6 over Oregon Tech at Kiger stadium Saturday afternoon. Game 2 was suspended due to poor field conditions in the bottom of the 4th with OIT leading 6-2 with 2-out. The game will be picked up Sunday morning at 11:00 am before the scheduled doubleheader that has now been changed to two 7 inning games.

Oregon Tech took a 4-2 lead after the first 5-innings, but UBC scored 5-runs in the 6
th and added 8-runs in the 9
th to win 14-6.
Braeden Allemann gave UBC the early lead, cracking his first homer of the season in the top of the 2nd inning.
Tech tied the game with 1-run on 3-hits highlighted by a Kai Fong double.
Tech took a 3-1 lead with 1-run in the 4
th and 1-run in the 5
th.
The T-Birds then scored 5-runs in the 6
th taking advantage of 2-walks, an OIT error and 2-doubles to take a 6-3 lead.
The Hooter quickly answered with 2-runs in the bottom of the 6
th to make it a 6-5 game.
Neither team could muster any offense in the 7
th or 8
th but UBC erupted for 8-runs in the top of the 9
th taking advantage of 4-walks, an OIT error and 3-hits, including the McComb slam.
Tech rallied in the 9
th for 1-run on 2-hits but the game ended with UBC winning 14-6.
Tyler Yorko, and Braeden Allemann had 2-hits each for UBC
Alex Paz had 3-hits with Blake Wrotenbery, Louis Wolf and DJ Harryman each contributing 2-hits for OIT.
